ETTIQUETE BEFORE BED

The etiquette before sleeping is a good habit encouraged in Islamic teachings. One of them is to perform ablution (wudu) beforehand so that one sleeps in a state of purity. In addition, reciting a bedtime prayer such as “Bismika Allahumma ahya wa amuut” is also recommended.

Reading verses from the Qur’an, such as Ayat al-Kursi and Surah Al-Ikhlas, Al-Falaq, and An-Nas, are acts that offer protection during sleep. The recommended sleeping position is lying on the right side, as was practiced by the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). It is also important to forgive others before sleeping so that the heart remains calm and free from grudges.

All these etiquettes aim to make sleep an act of worship and ensure Allah’s protection throughout the night. Now that you have learned this knowledge, it should be practiced in your daily life.
